Prior to this update, sharing of device audio was only available for Cornerstone Classroom App clients.
In this update, Express client users who are AppSharing can now share device audio on
Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. Video can be a local file, a URL, or an embedded
video file in a Web page or a PPTX.
Note: Currently, this feature is
not supported on Firefox browser.
When the leader or presenter enables the Express client participant to AppShare via Ask
to Share Application feature, the microphone permission is auto-assigned to the
Express client participant. Therefore, it is recommended that the leader or presenter does
not take away the microphone permission from Express client user when the user is
AppSharing.
While sharing the application, the participant can select
Also share system audio
option on the AppShare screen while sharing the entire screen or
Also share tab
audio while sharing a tab. So, when the participant shares a video or other media
with sound, the audio from the media is broadcast to all attendees in the session. When the
host stops AppShare, the shared device audio also stops.
Note: Currently, sharing of device audio is not supported while sharing a particular
window.
