Disable the ability to download recordings for offline viewing

Prior to this release, the Allow recording to be downloaded for offline viewing? domain property under Event category was set to 'Yes' by default. Resultantly, the Allow recording to be downloaded for offline viewing check box under 'Event Options' was displayed and selected by default. The users could clear the check box to disable the ability to downloadable recordings for the event.

With this release, the Allow recording to be downloaded for offline viewing? domain property under Event category is set to 'No' by default. So, the Allow recording to be downloaded for offline viewing check box under 'Event Options' is not displayed and disabled. This disables the ability to download recordings for offline viewing of events.

When the domain property is disabled, the Allow recording to be downloaded for offline viewing check box is not available on the following pages:

Schedule classroom
Schedule webinar
Event manager > Manage events > edit an event
Content manage > Publish recording

However, if the Allow recording to be downloaded for offline viewing? property is enabled again, then the recordings made during the time the property was disabled will not have offline recordings generated. To generate offline recordings for such events, you need to edit the event and select the Allow recording to be downloaded for offline viewing check box.

Note: In a Cornerstone Saba - Cornerstone Classroom integrated environment, users do not have access to edit meeting details. To generate offline recordings for such users, submit a request. For more details, contact Saba support.
