How did it work?
Prior to this release, when users tried to download a file from the browser client in a Mac environment, the Save Link As option was displayed. However, the file download did not work. Similarly, when users tried to download a file from the App client in a Mac environment, a menu for file download was displayed with Open Link, Open Link in New Window, and Copy Link to Clipboard options. However, only the Copy Link to Clipboard worked where users had to leave the Cornerstone Classroom App, and paste the link in their browser to open the file.
How does it work now?
With this release, Cornerstone Classroom now allows users to download a file from the Cornerstone Classroom browser or App client in a Mac environment. If a file is downloadable, then users can now click the file link to open the dialog box to save the file from a meeting event to their desired location.
For users in a Mac environment, the following message is displayed:
Click the file to download.
For users in other environment, the following message is displayed:
Right-click the file to download.

Description
How did it work?
Prior to the release, Cornerstone Classroom users in a Mac environment had to use the Windows type Control+C and Control+V commands to copy and paste respectively in the Cornerstone Classroom browser or App clients. For example, users had to use Command+C to copy a link from a text chat outside of the Cornerstone Classroom App in Mac and then pasting the link into the Add Content/URL/YouTube box in the App using the Windows type Control+V command.
How does it work now?
With this release, Cornerstone Classroom users in a Mac environment can use the Command+C and Command+V commands to copy and paste respectively. Continuing with the above example, users can now use Command+C to copy a link from a text chat outside of the Cornerstone Classroom App in Mac and then paste the link into the Add Content/URL/YouTube box in the App using the Command+V command in Mac.
Use Case
There is a need to support Mac commands such as Command+C and Command+V in the Cornerstone Classroom browser and App client in a Mac environment.

- If the content contains a virus, and the anti-virus software detects it.
- If there is a connection failure to the scan server.

Use Case
There is a need to scan content uploaded to Cornerstone Classroom session for malicious programs and viruses using an anti-virus software.
Support for importing larger size PPT files
Functional area: CMS
Type: Enhancement
Applicable to audience: All
Enabled by default?: Yes
Configurable by admin?: Yes
Configurable by Saba?: No
Description
How did it work?
Prior to this release, the Maximum file size (in megabytes) for PPT import client property had a default value of 20 MB. So, PPTs with file size larger than 20 MB could not be imported in a live session by Cornerstone Classroom desktop client and Agenda builder.
How does it work now?
This release increases the default value of the Maximum file size (in megabytes) for PPT import client property to 50 MB. Resultantly, Cornerstone Classroom desktop client and Agenda builder now allow you to import larger PPTs with file size up to 50 MB in a live session.
Use Case
Modern networks and servers support high data speeds and can handle larger data transfers.
Support for HTML5 to play YouTube videos
Functional area: Content
Type: Enhancement
Applicable to audience: All
Enabled by default?: Yes
Configurable by admin?: No
Configurable by Saba?: No
Description
How did it work?
Prior to this release, an HTML page used to display YouTube videos in the Cornerstone Classroom App/Browser client and native Desktop client on Windows. However, while playing YouTube video, users could see the video where the right side of video is slightly cut off. Also, while the video played, a message at the bottom of the page indicated that the Flash API was deprecated.
How does it work now?
This release upgrades the Cornerstone Classroom App/Browser client and the native Desktop client to use the HTML5 YouTube video player page on Windows. The HTML5 page for the Desktop client is modified to pass parameters through the URL; however, it only supports a participant and does not respond to presenter commands to pause, play, and so on.
Therefore, it is recommended that users who face problems while viewing YouTube videos in a Cornerstone Classroom session must upgrade their App to version 8.5.2 or above.
Additionally, in the presenter's view of the HTML5 page, the video slider did not used to work when the video was playing (it worked when the video was paused). This issue is also resolved across all language versions.
Use Case
Since the Flash Player API that is used to display YouTube videos in a Cornerstone Classroom session is being deprecated, there is a need to switch to newer supported APIs for playing YouTube videos in a Cornerstone Classroom session.
Session cookies enabled by default during install and upgrade
Functional area: Server
Type: Enhancement
Applicable to audience: All
Enabled by default?: Yes
Configurable by admin?: No
Configurable by Saba?: Yes
Description
How did it work?
Prior to this release, the session cookies for Cornerstone Classroom sessions were disabled by default and were configurable from the properties file.
How does it work now?
With this release, the session cookies for all Cornerstone Classroom sessions are enabled by default for all fresh installations and upgrades to version 8.5.2. Instead of the properties file, the session cookies are now set in the sm_config.template file. When new property files are generated, this property is updated in the Session.properties file based on the value configured in the sm_config.template file.
Enabling session cookies means that your session ID is kept in a cookie rather then in the session URL. This enhances security of your session by preventing unauthorized users from copying your session URL and session IDs.
Use Case
There is a need to enhance the security of Cornerstone Classroom sessions.
