Configure adaptive ports

The default port for adaptive connection is port 80 on the CMS. The properties files indicate the port where a specific server makes a connection. For example:
  • Satellite Server connects on port 443
  • Collaboration Server connects on port 1710
  • Recording Server connects on port 1711

These ports may be changed and additional ports may be specified to suit the organization's network needs and maximize Collaboration Server performance. For instructions about how to configure additional adaptive ports, refer to Configure adaptive ports.

For the best performance, Cornerstone Classroom real-time audio, video and data are normally delivered as RTMP data on Port 1710. However, firewall and proxy servers may affect the overall bandwidth connection. When the optimal connection fails, for example if users are inside a corporate firewall that closes the optimal ports, Cornerstone Classroom uses fallback mechanisms to deliver RTMP data on ports 80 and 443. For secondary tunneling configuration details, refer to Configure secondary tunneling for single IP CMS and CSS.
