Share device audio during AppShare

As an AppShare host, when you share a video or other media with sound, you can also choose to share your device audio with all attendees in the session. So, the audio from the media playing on the AppShare host's device is now audible in the session. Video can be a local file, a URL, or an embedded video file in a Web page or a PPTX.

In the App, when you start AppShare, you can see the Share computer sound option. If you are using the Express client, then when you start AppShare, you can see the Also share system audio option for the entire screen or Also share tab audio for a tab.

Click this option to start sharing device audio with all attendees in the session. When you stop AppShare, the shared device audio also stops.

Notes:
  • Sharing of device audio is only available in:
    • Cornerstone Classroom App client.
    • Cornerstone Classroom Express client on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. It is not supported on Firefox. Currently, sharing of device audio is not supported while sharing a particular window.
  • While sharing the device audio, the 'Voice Activity Detection' feature is disabled. So, the microphone will always stay 'active' while you share device audio.
  • Windows can automatically adjust the system audio output volume when a 'Communications' audio device is in use. This can affect the level of your shared device audio. Therefore, while sharing the device audio, check the sound setting in Windows: Go to the Windows 'Control Panel' and click Sound. In the 'Sound' panel, click the Communications tab, and select the 'Do nothing' option.
