Manage closed captioning
Cornerstone Classroom supports both manual and live Closed Captioning in the App and Express clients.
Closed Captioning provides the display of subtitles for audio visual communication during a virtual event. This allows organizations to fulfil some of the accessibility requirements.
Manual closed captioning
As a leader, you can assign any participant or co-presenter as the 'Closed Captioner' for a Cornerstone Classroom event. A Closed Captioner facilitates manual captioning during a session, where they type the caption text during the live session. These captions are displayed as subtitles to attendees who have enabled subtitles for the event.
Manual Closed Captioning feature is supported in the Standard Video mode.
Live closed captioning
Cornerstone Classroom supports automatic and live audio-to-text transcription in the App and Express clients and telephony audio streams. These captions are displayed as subtitles to attendees who have enabled subtitles for the event.
Live Closed Captioning feature is supported only in the Premium Video mode.
Once both these features are enabled, event leaders and co-presenters can choose to enable either manual or live Closed Captioning in an event.
