Audio and video support in breakout rooms
- When a VoIP user is moved to a breakout room, the audio is automatically switched to the sub-conference associated with the room.
- When a telephone participant is moved to a breakout room, a message with a key
sequence appears for the participant. The participant must enter the key
sequence on the telephone to be moved into the audio sub-conference.Note: To support telephone audio in breakout rooms, the Conference Call Profile must be configured by the Administrator to specify the DTMF sequence that moves each telephone participant into the audio sub-conference associated with the breakout room.
When an event participant moves between the main room and the breakout room, the last microphone status in the main room is maintained. That is, if a participant's microphone is enabled in the main room and that participant is moved to a breakout room, then when the participant moves back to the main room, the microphone remains enabled for them, irrespective of the microphone status in the breakout room they were in.
Similarly, when an event participant moves between the main room and the breakout room, the last video camera status in the main room is maintained. That is, if participants had video camera privileges assigned in the main room before breakout rooms were started, then the privileges are now automatically restored when they return to the main room from a breakout room, irrespective of the video camera status in the breakout room they were in.
